A tremendous amount of money and time is being spent on basic and clinical research to find that magic pill or injection.  Each day, more is being learned about what makes some people become obese and others have little difficulty in maintaining a desirable weight.  Fundamental research is being done to learn the basic causes of obesity.  From this research will come the answers that will lead to a permanent, effective, mehod of weight reduction and maintenance.

Unfortunately, the magic pill or medication, or the magic diet that works for everyone has not yet arrived.
